Job Offer: Youth & Leisure Representative

Mýrdalshreppur is looking for an enthusiastic and creative person to take care of youth and leisure issues within the municipality.

Employment rate is 60-100%, or by further agreement.

The purpose of the job is to professionally oversee the municipality's youth and sports activities in cooperation with the parties involved.

Goals and missions:

  • Project work and strategic planning related to youth and leisure matters
  • Close work with the Family, Leisure and Culture Council and other councils, as appropriate
  • Management of the OZ community center 
  • As a municipality's liaison with social organizations that have organized youth and leisure activities
  • Working in collaboration with schools and others who relate to young people
  • As a contact person and coordinator for the Heilsueflandi samfélag
  • Participation in events organized by the municipality
  • Other tasks assigned by the mayor

 

Qualification requirements:

  • Formal Education that could be useful to the work
  • Experience in youth and leisure activities
  • Icelandic language skills are valued
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in welfare and health promotion
  • Initiative, positivity and diligence
  • Wages are according to collective agreements of the Union of Icelandic Municipalities and the respective trade union.
  • A clean criminal record is a requirement for employment.
