Enskumælandi ráð skorar á Háskóla Íslands að endurskoða þá ákvörðun að bjóða eingöngu upp á Íslenskubrú í staðnámi í Reykjavík. Mikil reynsla er komin á fjarnám í háskólanámi og ekkert því til fyrirstöðu að tungumálakennsla fari fram með þeim hætti.
Mýrdalshreppur er fjölbreytt samfélag með háu hlutfalli erlendra íbúa og mikilvægt er að stutt sé við inngildingu þeirra í íslenskt samfélag. Miklu skiptir að stjórnvöld veiti íbúum jöfn tækifæri og að menntastofnanir nýti allar færar leiðir til að styðja við inngildingu nýrra íbúa.
Ráðið hvetur skólayfirvöld til þess að taka tillit til ólíkra aðstæðna íbúa landsins og styðja við íslenskukennslu um allt land.

The English-speaking council calls on the University of Iceland to reconsider the decision to only offer Icelandic Bridge (Íslenskubrú) as an on-site study in Reykjavík. There is a lot of experience with distance learning in higher education, and there are no obstacles to language teaching taking place that way.
Mýrdalshreppur is a diverse community with a high percentage of foreign residents, and it is important to support their inclusion into Icelandic society. It is very important that the government provides residents with equal opportunities and that educational institutions use all available means to support the integration of new residents.
The council encourages the school authorities to consider the different circumstances of the country's inhabitants and to support the teaching of Icelandic throughout the country.
